Eleanor - United Kingdom

Eleanor comes from the United Kingdom. After finishing school she began her work with the Red Cross in France. During her 10 month placement in France, Eleanor ran activities for vulnerable people in the community with social difficulties and also initiated activities with refugees in her local branch. In September, Eleanor will commence her university studies, reading International Relations. She then hopes to do a conversion to law, followed by passing the bar and becoming a UK barrister. She would like to specialise in human rights law, in particular on an international scale, paying attention to the actions of governments themselves. Advocacy competitions, debate groups and public speaking have helped Eleanor develop the skills needed in this pursuit. Eleanor's interests lie in the rights of refugees. She hopes to push for the development of laws that protect this human sector in society, specifically aiming to create programmes designed to further integrate migrants with the general public.
