Changemaker: Mortaza Ismalizada
Country of Implementation: Afghanistan
Most high school students in Afghanistan do not have the privilege of a complete high school education where they are able to learn key skills and learning methods. In most cases, there is also extremely limited access to education beyond the classroom or programmes that fill the gaps in the curriculum.
Mortaza Ismailzada has designed a summer camp called Eagle Life Program (ELP) for high school students where they will have the opportunity to learn and experience a creative and innovative learning environment beyond their classrooms. Over five days in the summer, 40 participants selected from high schools in Kabul are challenged and inspired to learn a new set of skills including leadership, networking, communication, arts, creative writing and more! Unfortunately, these life changing skills are not taught at high schools in Afghanistan at this time.
