Alexandre, 22, was born and raised in the favelas of São Paulo; despite the odds, he is about to get a bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering from a top school in Latin America. Co-founder of Garatéa, an initiative that co-creates technological solutions with local governments, aiming to decrease their emergency response time. His work has been given awards by the World Bank Group and the Clinton Foundation. Passionate about the public sector, Alexandre has the bold goal of becoming the youngest mayor elected in his city. He believes that the experiences he has lived and his engagement with networks such as Global Changemakers will help him with this aspiration.
