Changemaker: Rai Muhammad Hasen Masoud
Country of Implementation: Pakistan
In the rural village of Basidharpur, Punjab, access to healthcare is a significant challenge due to financial and geographic barriers. Families face difficulties obtaining even basic healthcare services, with maternal and child health being particularly neglected. Motivated by personal stories from his father, who grew up in this village, Rai Muhammad Hasen Masoud launched the Paigham-e-Sehat Health Awareness Campaign through the Kaavish Foundation.
The campaign, scheduled for March 8–9, 2024, aims to provide preventive healthcare education and services to over 200 villagers. It emphasizes empowering women with knowledge about hygiene, nutrition, and maternal care. The initiative will include free health checkups, personalized health advice, and interactive workshops on essential hygiene practices. A key feature is the creation of a "health marketplace," where villagers can consult healthcare professionals specializing in maternal health, pediatrics, dentistry, and nutrition.
In partnership with Al Ehsan Welfare Hospital, volunteer doctors and medical interns will deliver critical services. By fostering awareness, equipping families with actionable knowledge, and promoting preventive healthcare, this project seeks to create lasting health improvements. Paigham-e-Sehat is a meaningful step toward sustainable health practices, ensuring a healthier future for the Basidharpur community.
