Who we are
A global community of young changemakers
Global Changemakers is a network of young people working across countries, cultures and communities to create real change.
Since 2007, we’ve grown into a community of 1,200+ changemakers in 180+ countries, supporting each other to turn ideas into action.
Global Changemakers began in 2007 as an initiative of the British Council, created to support young people to drive change in their communities. In 2013, we became an independent organisation and have since grown into a global network and a leading force in supporting youth-led change.
Our changemakers have been recognised by international institutions and leading publications, and have represented youth at platforms such as the United Nations, the European Parliament and the World Economic Forum.
They are already shaping the future.

MISSION
We support youth to build inclusive, equitable, and sustainable communities.

The Problem
Young people are essential to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, yet donor funding rarely reaches youth-led projects. Even when funding exists, the training, mentorship, and practical support to build strong initiatives is often missing.
The result is not just fewer projects. It is fewer opportunities for young leaders to build inclusive, equitable, and sustainable communities where they live.
It does not have to stay that way.

Our Approach
Global Changemakers bridges the gap with skills development, capacity building, mentoring, and grants, so young leaders can take ideas from concept to real-world impact.
We have trained thousands of young people in 180+ countries and funded 500+ youth-led projects across six continents, with a combined impact of 16M+ people.
We aim to keep this support flowing to the places it is most often missing, while staying youth-driven and focused on low overhead so more resources go directly to changemakers and their communities.
