Galit Akerman

Galit Akerman Sánchez is a young Costa Rican scientist and entrepreneur dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the world. She is currently completing her master's degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology at the University of Costa Rica. Simultaneously, she has developed her startup, BioFun, which began as an idea in a classroom and has evolved into a small company focused on biotechnological innovation aimed at improving water quality and eliminating emerging contaminants using microorganisms. Galit is driven by curiosity and confidence, fostering valuable partnerships. Her ambitions include bringing to market the technology that she and her team have been developing, while promoting scientific and sustainable development.
