African Youth Summit 2023

Cape Town, South Africa  |  17-20 October 2023

We are excited to announce the fully funded African Youth Summit 2023! In partnership with the ATKV, Global Changemakers will be hosting our second Africa Regional Summit in Cape Town, South Africa from 17-20 October 2023.

Changemakers from or living in Africa working to create positive impact in their communities will be invited to attend a life-changing week of skills development, networking and capacity building alongside 50 of Africa’s most impactful young leaders. After the summit they will join an international network of over 1200 Changemakers from around the world and become eligible to apply for grant funding to scale and amplify their impact.

Funding

Transport to the venue from within South Africa, accommodation and meals for the duration of the summit will be covered

Eligibility

Changemakers aged 21-29 living in South Africa who are working to create positive change in their communities are welcomed to apply.

Selection Process

Changemakers are selected through a competitive selection process and the ATKV will accept applications from Changemakers based in South Africa.

If you are currently living outside of South Africa and will therefore be travelling to the summit from outside South Africa (including South Africans), applications have now closed. Due to travel logistics and selection processes, we are not able to accept ANY late applications.

If you live in South Africa

If you are currently living in South Africa and will therefore be travelling to the summit from within South Africa (no matter your nationality), please apply using the option below. For Changemakers selected from South Africa, the summit will be the start of a leadership programme by the ATKV.

ABOUT Global CHangemakers

Global Changemakers is an international youth organisation with a mission to support youth to create positive change towards more fair, just and sustainable communities. We do this through skills development, capacity building, mentoring and grants. 

We have trained over 15K young people from over 180 countries and provided grants to 460+ youth-led projects in partnership with organisations such as the Shawn Mendes Foundation that have had a combined impact on over 16 million people.

We have organised four Virtual Youth Summits, eleven fully funded Global Youth Summits and four Regional Summits in Asia, Latin America, Africa and Europe, as well as many other skill-building events across the world.
