Activism, General, Global Youth Summit 2009
From 1-21 August we are accepting applications for the Fourth Annual Global Youth Summit, which will take place in the UK from 15-21 November.
The objective of the Summit will be to initiate 60 new Global Changemakers (aged 16-19) into the community, build their knowledge of key global issues, build their skills in project management, fundraising, media, research and monitoring and evaluation, and launch community action projects.
At the end of the week, six Global Changemakers will be chosen to represent the group at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos in January 2010.

Hey i found out what we should do (not that it is that hard).At first i was thinking that we need to donwload the application papers, complete them, scan them and submit them somewhere but…the actual thing was right in front of my eyes - we need to simply click on Complete the online application form and then follow the steps

I would have liked to go but CHANGEMAKERS… US TEENS HAVE CRUCIAL EXAMS DURING THAT PERIOD. MY EXAMS ONLY END THE NEXT WEEK. CANT ANYTHING BE DONE AS I’M SURE THIS AFFECTS LOTS OF 16-19 YEAR OLDS UNLESS YOUR WROTE YOUR FINALS IN JUNE?

Hello! I’m an EFL Teacher totally impressed by the rationale behind this programme. It’s clear that it will enhance positive change in my community and promote critical thinking. This mission will have a momentous impact upon my professional career. I’m 23 years old; I wonder if I can take a part in this event and be among the 60 talented young social entrepreneurs, since participants should be only between 16 and 19 years old in November, as I had been informed.

Hi everyone,
I think Chiara is right, I think the dates are fixed already. I personally think that you guys should just apply. This happened to me when I was going to go to London to attend Global Changemakers at the London Summit 2009, I had final exams too. But, BC Indonesia wrote a permission letter to my school, I explained the condition, and after a few days filled with discussions, they allowed me to take exams earlier/later and attend the event. I think your schools are going to be very proud to have you as their students if you are selected to attend this event. No worries guys!

I want to send an application for the Fourth Annual Global Youth Summit as my Country Sierra Leone is always venerable in terms of International Representation in an Event of this Nature. We have suffered under 11 years Post Conflict Civil War in the Country and is High time we should sell the Image of our Country and Bringing the Country at the top of the International Agenda through the Representation of the Youth in Events like this.

Hey please organiser for the meeting, try to consider application forms without you tube video from least developing countries. It is an issue to prepare a you tube video many youth from least developing countries have no alternatives for this. If you will be strictly for this it will be unfair for the guys from LDCs. Therefore i encourage you to consider their application even though they dont attach a video wright???

@NYAGONDE STEPHAN… i thot so too. making a video and posting it on you tube is a great deal to some of us especially from the LDC’S. Please do consider applications without videos too, otherwise they may have videos but not of high quality
