Somewhere along the way, children have been boxed into an education system that does not allow them to dream. This is especially true in vulnerable contexts, where the next generation is not given the opportunity to design their own futures and be creative. DISUEÑA is on a mission to change this.

Our goal is to bring STEAM technology and creative education to children and teenagers in foster homes, empowering them to design and fabricate their own toys. Through hands-on learning, we foster creativity, strengthen self-esteem, and develop emotional and cognitive skills.

Our team emerged as a response to the lack of spaces that truly nurture children's full development. We want them not only to explore their imagination but also to build skills that can transform their future. Our objective is to equip them with tools for self-expression, exploration of new opportunities, and the ability to build a future with greater possibilities, including entrepreneurship.

How do we do this? Through workshops where children are free to dream, creating characters from their imagination. They then use digital tools to bring their ideas to life in 3D, learning how these tools work. Finally, they receive a physical version of their creation as a reminder of their abilities and the limitless possibilities they have through learning, designing, and, most of all, dreaming.

In this second edition of DISUEÑA, our team aims to impact 20 children in orphanages in Lima, Peru who are living in a constant state of vulnerability due to the abuse and social neglect they face. With DISUEÑA, we help these children develop their self-esteem, enhance their emotional and cognitive skills, and build a future that goes beyond limitations—helping us all build inclusive and equitable communities.
