Quick update from Miami

It’s Sunday morning here in the US of A and I just thought I would update you on the latest developments. Louise and I are clicking away at the buttons of the keyboards of our laptops in the hotel lobby, while Scott, Lubna, Charlotta and Karapet left earlier to take part in the CGI U community service project that is at one of the local neighbourhoods.

I have already had to say goodbye to them as my flight departs early, which meant that I couldn’t attend the community service project. Our farewell at the reception court of the hotel was as hard as it is to say goodbye to family. It was rather reminiscent of the overly emotional farewells that are shared year after year at the Guildford Global Youth Summit.

Things have been in a bit of a scramble over the past few days with the volcanic eruption in Iceland. It seems that Louise, Scott and Charlotta will be stranded in Miami because their flights have been cancelled due to the European airports and airspace being closed. The past day has been filled with mixed emotions. We are all a bit worried at the moment due to the large amount of uncertainty. Let’s just hope for the best!
