Team Tuesday (15/6/2010)
… and once again it’s Tuesday – it’s amazing how time flies when you’re going through hundreds of applications for a youth summit!
Since Monday afternoon the Bern team has been complete for the first time in about a month: Fran’s come back from Brussels first and then Washington, ever so slightly jetlagged but full of energy. And coffee.
We’re still very busy evaluating applications, added to which we’re interviewing for a new position on the team; still, in between I’ve managed to get some answers to questions from the community. (There are still a number of questions we yet need to get back to – we will, though!) Here goes:
Q: What are your plans for International Youth Day 2010 (12 August) and the World Youth Conference 2010 in Mexico?
A: We’re not sending a delegation to Mexico, but we have helped out some Changemakers with references. We have plans for IYD 2010, but it’s too early to reveal anything…
Q: Are any events in the pipeline specifically for alumni of Global Changemakers summits?
A: Not at the moment. We will always bring back summit alumni, whether to high-level events or for peer facilitation duties, but at the moment we don’t have any concrete plans for an alumni-only event.
Q. Which team(s) do you support at the World Cup in South Africa?
A: Gaby’s a big Mexico fan and Kath paints her face orange on a daily basis (metaphorically speaking), so no surprises there. Fran supports the United States, but also Italy – then again, she calls the game ‘soccer’, so take that as you will. I’m afraid that I am absolutely uninterested in football myself (possibly due to years spent as a kid playing on the local team, which was largely a painful, embarrassing experience I don’t care to remember), so I’m mainly hoping for the month to pass quickly and painlessly.
I’m afraid that’s it for this week – we’ve got an afternoon of job interviews here. One thing before I sign off, though: Gaby (global.changemakers) is again doing a Skype chat tomorrow from 2-3pm CET. Tune in if you’ve got some pressing CAP questions!

One Response to Team Tuesday (15/6/2010)
Here is something special that you may like to get involved with prior to International Youth Day: http://www.shootnations.org
I am looking for ways to spread the word across the globe. So far it is going very well.
Good Luck!
