Team Tuesday (11/5/2010)
… phew. Team Tuesday’s been on my to-do list for the entire day, but somehow things got in the way – not least a productive but very long meeting. Nevertheless, I’ve got some updates from the Bern team:
- Everyone’s made it back okay (plus/minus a stomach bug or two) from Tanzania. Eddy, Bongani, Mahmoud, Alex and Kemi did a brilliant job at the WEF Africa, as did Kath and Gaby, the designated Changemaker-minders.
- The application process for the Latin America Youth Summit has begun! Some clarifications: 1) The main part of all participants will be from Latin America and the Caribbean, but there will also be a global contingent – i.e. no matter where you’re from, you’re free to apply. 2) The event itself will be held in English. This doesn’t mean that you have to speak BBC English – but you have to be comfortable enough with the language to communicate, and communicate well, in it. 3) If you’re under 18 by 1 August, I’m afraid you can’t apply for this event. However, there will be a Global Youth Summit in autumn, and for that one we’ll be looking for candidates aged 16-19.
- Gaby’s asking me to remind you that the application deadline for CAPs is 15 May. Also, for those of you who had garbled links in the CAPs Guidelines (in the CAPs section), we’ve uploaded a cleaned-up version of the guidelines. Make sure to download them! Finally: Gaby will awill be on Skype for Chat Wednesday tomorrow 14:00-16:00 GMT.
Okay, that’s it for the moment. Everyone at the Bern office wishes all of you a great Tuesday evening! … and now for those last three items on my to-do list…
