Team Tuesday (1/6/2010)
Isn’t it amazing how time flies when you’ve got piles of work and to-do lists the length of your arm… or both your arms… plus those of the people you’re sharing an office with.
I’ve promised to a certain colleague of mine that she won’t be the topic of today’s Team Tuesday, so I’ll be true to my word. Katherine and Fran are both abroad – Kath’s actually having a mini-holiday and Fran has continued her travels from Brussels to Washington. Here’s hoping that the jetlag fairy is giving her a break…
So, what’s happening here?
- We’re in the last week of the call for applications for our upcoming Latin America Youth Summit. Applications are coming in at a healthy rate, although we could still do with more application videos (remember, folks – no video, no complete application!). If you try to upload your video at the last moment and YouTube goes on strike? I’m afraid we won’t be able to help…
- We’ve also opened the call for applications for peer facilitators to help us run the Latin America Youth Summit – and already we’ve got 22 applications!
- CAPs Woman is working hard following up on the CAPs grants that were awarded last week. Which is also why she needs a bit of a rest, so tomorrow I’m taking over Chatting Wednesdays (on Skype – global.changemakers) for one hour at 15h CET. I won’t be able to answer much in the way of CAP questions, but if anyone’s interested in talking about the website or other things, I’ll be there.
- Talking about the website: many, many thanks to our Global Changemakers website workgroup, who’ve put hours and hours into helping us improve the current website, but more importantly, who have made a fantastic start with respect to what a new Global Changemakers website would look like. Yes, that’s right: we’re planning http://www.global-changemakers.net 2.0! Thank you to Alanda, Juan, Mariel, Ricky, Scott, Simon, Sofia and Yara, the godmothers and godfathers of the next incarnation of http://www.global-changemakers.net. (Release date? When it’s done.)
Okay, that’s it for now. All the best from everyone on the team, whether they’re in Bern, London, Washington, Spain or anywhere else in the world!
