Slightly surreal blog update - with donkeys!
Today’s shaping up to be quite busy – trip to Davos in the afternoon to meet CNN and one of the panelists, picking up the day passes for the WEF conference centre, interviews with the local media… But we also find some time for some lateral thinking and creativity – things that may not look immediately related to the session on Thursday, but that keep the Davos 6 on their mental toes. Franz, PhD in Theoretical and Applied Silliness (as well as English Linguistics), got the group creative with some writing exercises. Here are some of the results from the Six, done in a spirit of engaged silliness, often a sadly underrated skill. (Dada is clearly not dead!)
Donkeying Around
I walked into the cafeteria
and a giant donkey threw a big ball of food at me
then the food fight started
but fun it was not
however, the sun made up for it
we all felt alive – and the donkey
went back to the pool…

Yu Nan in Davos
Dreaming ’bout kissing and snowboarding
And waiting for spring
What Nick has in his suitcase
- ski boots
- elephant ivory tusks
- large net
- semi-automatic rifle
- illiterate Belgian woman from 1920
- chocolate bread
- 10’000 tons of Mozambiquan gold
- one way ticket on the Titanic
- English breakfast tea
- 3 1/2 coconuts
Knowledge of power
One day, by the fountain
draw a peaceful flower,
and suddenly I knew my power -
I could move a mountain
