Run-up to Rio: impressions from the peer facilitator training, day 4
Our days have been quite busy working for everything to be as exciting and enriching as we can make the 1st Latin American and Caribbean Youth Summit! The program is amazing, the participants are really inspiring, the location is absolutely beautiful (quite different and surprising, said Louise)… and Brazil, of course, full of remarkable things.
Somewhere in between going over the last details of the program, some energizers, team builders, ice breakers, group meetings, discussions, questions, answers and facilitation without borders (everywhere, anytime -even while laughing or sleeping), we got to meet the actor, director, producer and political activist Danny Glover, had a lovely and informal dinner with the friendly Global Fellows who are staying in Brazil, started writing up a rap (not RAPs… yet) to introduce ourselves and peers, and got to know more about Brazilian culture while taking a walk through Lapa while changing our moves as techno, samba, forró and funk reached our ears.
To all of the participants out there: we are really looking forward to welcome you into the GCM Network and can, without a doubt, assure you that this is going to be a very fun and significant experience!
