Reminder: Latin America Youth Summit 2010
Only one more week to go before the call for applications for the Latin America Youth Summit 2010 – the first ever Global Changemakers summit in the region! – ends. We’ve received several hundred applications so far, so make sure that yours is as strong as you can make it!
Some specific notes:
- Remember that you need to be registered and logged in order to access the applications page. If you aren’t logged in, the website will tell you that the applications page couldn’t be found. Make sure to be logged in!
- While we’ve got hundreds of written applications, only a few dozen people have sent in their application videos. Remember: your application is only complete once we’ve received your video and your written online application! We will only send out confirmations once we’ve received your complete application.
- Starting on Monday, we will ask existing Global Changemakers (i.e. those who have already attended one of our summits – please note that you’ll also have to be 18-25) to apply for the ten positions as peer facilitators for the Latin America Youth Summit. These ten will receive special training before the summit and will then work with John Martin, facilitator-trainer-all-round-great-guy extraordinaire, facilitating the event. Changemakers will have one week (Monday to Monday) to apply for a position as peer facilitator. Watch this space!
By the way, if you’re not sure of what your video should look like, here’s an example of an application video. The applicant went on to take part in our Global Youth Summit 2009 and was one of the representatives at the WEF Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland last January. Your video does not need to look exactly like this, but it might give you some ideas for your own video!
So, if you haven’t sent in your complete application yet, do so now!
