London Summit 2009: Have your say on BBC
In late March/early April, Global Changemakers is bringing a number of Global Changemakers to London for the G-20 summit hosted by Gordon Brown. The London Summit will mainly address the current economic crisis.
Obviously we will have more information on our engagement with the event very soon. For now, though, the BBC is looking for comments, asking: What can governments do? Here’s what they write:
World leaders are meeting in London next month to discuss plans to tackle the current economic crisis. What do you think are the most pressing issues facing the world’s economy?
The G-20 is a group of the world’s most powerful countries that together represent 85% of the world’s economy.
Some of the options the leaders may discuss include further interest rate cuts and government spending, stronger international regulation of banks and financial institutions, and preventing a slide towards protectionism.
What do you think is the most important thing governments can do? How can the interests of both big and small nations be taken into account? How have you been personally affected by the economic crisis?
Check out the discussion on the BBC website and join in!

One Response to London Summit 2009: Have your say on BBC
Hi Aashish
I’m sure you’re right – I was just answering on behalf of East (not South) Asia! Sorry if I caused any confusion!
Good luck!
