Latin America and Caribbean Youth Summit 2010: Day 1

You can’t really feel the days passing by so fast when you have so much to do and everything is just about having fun learning.  People tend to think that a facilitator is an adult that behaves like your old grandma when she doesn’t want you to get back late at night after a party.  Yes, we might get annoying sometimes but if people are going out here they BETTER invite us to join!

The summit just started and it couldn’t have been better.  All the people we got to meet today are amazing.  There are no words to define this incredible group of youngsters but I must find a way to do it otherwise we could have an unknown reaction from Matt, which I’m not willing to try (you might say he’s a good and kind guy but I strongly feel the Dark side of the Force in him, seriously!).

Being a Facilitator for this event is just amazing.  I mean, you’ve got to be a little crazy to change the world, right? Therefore you must be even crazier to facilitate people that are actually doing that so passionately.  So, when people tell me I’m crazy for doing this kind of activity I’ll just rise in pride.  There is no bigger honour than “serving the ones that are serving others” and giving “change” a total new meaning.

Tomorrow the adventure takes off, Teresópolis awaits… you’re going to hear great things about these guys in the future, that’s a fact.  Let the world try to stop us.  We’ll do more than withstand the pressure; we’re going to lead this world to a better end.  Cheers Latin America and the Caribbean, a new generation of Changemakers is here to fight!

P.S.: Oh! About Matt, I’m not joking.  He’s just as dangerous as Madam Louise when someone is late for a session.  You’ll understand one day, but I hope that day never comes! wink
