Full update from Switzerland - now with pics!
Beautiful people!
Loads of snow, -10 degrees Celsius, heartwarming passion of the youngest delegate to ever attend the World Economic Forum (WEF), breathtaking views of exquisitely high mountains in a town of 195 people, which includes 24 children… This basically describes how things are thus far. So, as Ben and Matt said, we have safely arrived in Switzerland and I have never seen so much snow in my life! Seeing that you’re all going to be very successful individuals and will be financially free, this is absolutely one of those places you have to visit – when you grow up that is J.
Well, Monday the team hit the road running; we had a teleconference with the WEF organizers to deal with the practicalities of the actual session. Then John Martin (our facilitator in Guildford) was kind enough to come over and remind the team key things about presenting oneself and gave them useful tips that they can use tomorrow. The team also had a discussion about the various issues they’d like to raise. I must say, they are very concerned about making everybody’s voice heard, thus they are working hard to make sure they can effectively get the messages of the Guildford 60 across.
We spent most of the day travelling yesterday – I don’t want to get caught in describing how awesome the snow covered mountains are, check out the pics and put this place on your list of places you have to visit before you die or global warming messes up the earth! The team spent this morning exercising their minds to think creatively - something that seems simple but comes in handy when you have to put 60 people’s concerns, passion, energy and work into brief statements by six people… Armin (the alumnus who went to Davos last year) has arrived and has been discussing stuff with them, so that helps a lot as well. So, the team will be working tonight but we’ll make sure they get their beauty sleep for tomorrow J. You’ll definitely be getting an update from me tomorrow about the final preparation.
I speak on behalf of the team when I say thanks a million for your support, trust and well wishes. The team is doing their best to make you proud.
Loads of love and hugs,Short y
