CAP’s Friday - Rabat Entrepreneurial Challenge
Grace to God, and to our supporters, Rabat Entrepreneurial Challenge has been successfully completed. For those of you who are not familiar with the project, REC was a six-day training program which aimed to introduce entrepreneurship to a selected number of Moroccan students. The program took place from the 21st to the 26th of June 2010 in the capital city Rabat, and it was simply…a blast!
When I first thought of organizing REC, I was strongly convinced that I was addressing a pressing need. But I did not see the magnitude of this need until I witnessed the enthusiasm of the community around it; students were really passionate and they gave their best during the training. At first I was a bit concerned, how can we train students our age or even older without creating sensitivities? Will they even listen to us? But during the training, I was struck by the respect they paid to us as trainers, they were really appreciative and they LOVED the week. When we finished the training, we wanted to reimburse our participants for their transport during the week, and some of them (who were actually coming from another city every day) refused the money claiming that REC is actually something they wouldn’t mind paying for! I was really touched and proud to be part of this experience. I made a new network of young, passionate and smart people, and I am looking forward to use this network to change my country to the better! I would like to thank my team, the British Council and all other supporters for this success…it is YOUR success!
