CAPs Friday 28/05/2010
Hello Changemakers!
It is CAPs Friday and today we are using this space to congratulate the Changemakers who will get a grant to implement their projects. It is the first time we streamline the applications and in my humble opinion it was a great exercise. I will be getting back to each of the Changemakers that submitted an application to go into the details of the grant and for those who didn’t get one this time around I will tell them how to improve their chances for next time around.
I was pleasantly surprised to see Entrepreneurism and Micro-finance were a big hit for this period and also to have a couple of existing initiatives came up with great plans to continue or expand the work they are already doing in their communities.
I received a couple of RAPs and GAPs applications. Since the application for those was scheduled for the Autumn-Winter period of applications I will treat those on a case to case basis and contact the applicants individually. You will have to be a bit patient for those results.
So without further ado:
New CAPS:
Kick the Butt – Sri Lanka
React and Change – Brazil
Transformers – Portugal
Greenings – Switzerland
Shining Horizon – Myanmar
See the world through our eyes – Malaysia
Vietnam youth forum – Vietnam
Speak Your Mind – Australia
Youth for Climate Justice – Canada and India
MMBEHNYENH! (I’m here) – Liberia
Goreto – Nepal
Rabat Entrepreneurial Challenge – Morocco
Hoima Entrepreneurial Challenge – Uganda
Junior Entrepreneurs of Zimbabwe – Zimbabwe
CAPs getting a second grant:

For our Changemakers in Africa and the Middle East working on projects to advocate for girls’ rights remember we have, in partnership with The girl effect special grants that are available throughout the year. We will be launching in Kenya REDI this summer and hope to have many others ready for implementation soon.
For all of you who did not make it for this period of applications a friendly reminder that the next round will be open in September 1-15. Please read our guidelines and contact me if you have questions.
Cheers
Gaby
