CAPs Friday 16/07/10
Hi Changemakers,
CAPs Friday again! Today instead of focusing on one CAP we will share with you some of our CAPs news!
As all of our grantees know, making the payments of your grants has proved difficult causing unwanted delays on the implementation of the projects. We are working hard on resolving this issue and are told (keep your fingers crossed, i.e. the over 6000 fingers the network has), that the new account that will allow us to make transfers that can be picked up on the same day will be ready by mid next week.
We have 3 new girl effect projects in the oven, those will be released once the whole saga with the payments is resolved, but to you a bit of an insight Nigeria, Yemen and Zimbabwe will be seeing GCM’s activities to advocate for girls’ rights.
On another note, I would like to remind you that the fall cycle of applications will be from 1-15 September. In that cycle we will release 20 new CAPs and exceptionally 4 GAPs or RAPs grants. As I mentioned on the blog that released the new guidelines, current global Changemakers will have the opportunity of pitching projects that fulfill the GAPs and RAPs requirements for this only time. Starting on our LAYS in Rio de Janeiro, we will be working on designing GAPs or RAPs during our Summits.
I am trying to keep the Skype chat on Wednesdays going regularly, so please add global.changemakers on your Skype account if you want to chat about your CAPs and/or if you have questions in general. I am also on e-mail so do contact me if you have any questions about this.
Last but not least, I wanted to share this article that came my way about Alanda Kariza’s CAP, the Indonesian Youth Conference, the article speaks for itself, but it’s things like this that make me leave my bed every morning!
