Duke Together Against Constitutional Discrimination is a coalition of students, faculty, staff, organizations, and individuals who stand against putting discrimination in the North Carolina State Constitution.
On May 8th, 2012 North Carolina voters will vote on an amendment to the North Carolina constitution that would define marriage between a man and a woman as the ONLY domestic legal union recognized in the state. If passed, this amendment will not only limit the rights of countless LGBT North Carolinians, it will also change the definition of domestic violence in the state. We at Duke Together know that Duke, Durham, and North Carolina are better than that.
Through working together as a university community, we know that we can stop this amendment and keep discrimination out of North Carolina’s Constitution.
