About Me At 16, Yara Wazir was one of the British Council’s Global Changemakers. Later that year, she started The Green Initiative ME, which raises awareness about climate change through education and innovation. By 18, Wazir had expanded The Green Initaitive to 7 countries, spanning 3 continents. Yara is a tree hugging, polar bear saving, high sea-level swimming, global warming recognising, coffee addict citizen of the Earth.
Yara has participated at several regional and international high level conferences, such as the UN-World Climate Conference, and the World Economic Forum MENA.
She is currently studying Environmental Protection and Chemical Engineering at Loughborough University.
