Driving Social Change through Social Media

Aimed at exploring social media’s potential in driving social change, the British Council Philippines gathered more than 100 students and young professionals for the Manila leg of the Digital Technology for Social Change” seminar series.

Among the speakers at the forum, which was held at the De la Salle – College of St. Benilde last January 26, were Charie Villa of ABS-CBN’s Choose Philippines campaign, Vangge Giorgetti of TaoPo.org,  virtual artist Niccolo Cosme of Project Headshot Clinic, and Marie Sonsehrey Bretaña of WWF-PhilippinesPonceJecel, and I also had the opportunity to share our experiences asGlobal Changemakers.

For the next weeks, BC Philippines will also be bringing this forum to four other cities around the Philippines (Baguio, Naga, Bacolod, and Davao). Check out the dates, venues, and participation guidelines here.

Some of the people present at the forum live tweeted some of the key points raised. The following are the aggregated tweets during the Manila leg of #DigiTech4SocialChange.
