Entrepreneurship is going to be a key component in the transformation and development of Africa. This project’s vision is to set an entrepreneurial mindset in today’s youths. Through this project we aim to empower young people so they can become independent from the government or welfare grants and start taking the initiative to create jobs.
We intend to organise workshops where we will teach students various aspects of entrepreneurship ranging from:
1. The key & basic underlying principles behind entrepreneurship,
2. Turning challenges into opportunities,
3. Identifying viable business opportunities,
4. The basics of writing a business plan,
5. Pitching for business funding,
6. Management and leadership skills in running a business.
After we deliver a set of these workshops we intend our students to identify viable business ideas and to present their ideas. We will have a panel of experts comprising of social entrepreneurs and businessmen who will help to assess the feasibility and profitability of these ideas. The winners and runners-up of the project will then be linked to mentors throughout the network we intend to establish and will receive funding for the implementation of their ideas.
