Centigrade

This project’s aim is to raise substantial awareness about the looming dangers of global warming, to advocate change regarding our perception about the environment and our behaviour towards it in general.

Centigrade: Climate is about inspiring change for a better environment and world, by removing the intent of harm at grassroots level.

We will create a network of primary school learners (fifth to seventh grade) that will be socially responsible and consciously accountable in alleviating climate change.

Their inspiration is the notion that every single individual can make an impact on the community by educating and empowering others. It is the education that we have obtained in the past and from former teachers that has inspired us to give something back to the community by providing this programme to primary schools.

The project’s activities want to:

  • Promote environmentally-friendly lifestyles today and for the future generation;
  • Plant trees as a direct alleviation mechanism for climate change;
  • Promote clean living and recycling;
  • Create a movement of young environmental activists.

One of these Changemakers participated in the 2009 edition of the Global Humanitarian Forum.
