Brand My Mat is a public transport vehicle branding project with the objective to pass on creative, subtle and non-confrontational messages. These messages speak of peace building, violence prevention and promote peaceful co-existence amongst young people in conflict affected areas of rural and urban Kenya. This campaign uses art as a trigger for critical conversations and for communities to start playing their part in the reconciliation and reconstruction process.
The team collected and developed relevant messages for the target project sites, partnered with the local FM radio station Kiss Radio and mobilized the young audience to nominate their favourite public transport vehicles for the branding.
The team branded more than 10 vehicles moving along different routes that displayed different relevant peace messages.
