Update(s) from Davos (3): the WEF panel

If you've been watching the link posted in the last blog entry, you may already have seen it: the video of the session Shaping the Post-Crisis World at the WEF, starring your very own Davos 6, as well as Riz Khan and... not Kofi Annan, who unfortunately had to cancel his engagement at short notice. Instead, and quite unexpectedly, we were graced with the presence of former UN Human Rights High Commissioner Mary Robinson. But you're not here to read my words so much as listen to the words of the Six, so without much further ado:

Of course the Six have been busy with more than this session ever since they arrived in Switzerland. I previously mentioned the press event with Kofi Annan - here's some footage, done as always by our very own Ed:

By the way: you'll find more than just the videos posted here, both from Guildford and from Davos at the Global Changemakers YouTube channel.

Finally, as part of our media offensive at the WEF, we asked Ed and Lisa from Native Voice to prepare a short film that would play as a loop on select screens at the WEF. It is a wonderful encapsulation of their work with the Global Changemakers and of the people who make this programme work: the six, the sixty, the 250, the hundreds of thousands of young changemakers around the world who work on improving their communities with intelligence, integrity, empathy and passion. Enjoy!

Nimesh: I’m sorry you haven’t been able to watch the debate. It should be possible for one of us to download the film and save it on a CD-ROM. Send me an e-mail and I’ll see what I can do. (I’m afraid my brain’s slowly turning to corn flakes here, so I can’t guarantee that I’ll remember without you sending a mail…)

Finally got to see the whole hour’s discussion. I was so moved. The Six kept up the momentum of passion and engagement, of representing youth and challenging the establishment. I have to admit I am still wiping away tears of joy and emotion. From an old activist who had the pleasure of working with you - THANK YOU - the six and the sixty (OK 58!!!) .

Now the real work begins - Go Guys
