I just turned 20 last february..
Will I still be allowed to participate?
17 July 2009
oh i guess i can do that. am 17! wow sounds great
17 July 2009
Hi,
In the home page for Global Changemakers, it says the program is for youth between 16-25. So why is the Global Youth Summit restricted to youth between 16-19 only?

It’s because the different summits - and especially the connected high-level events - aim at different sections of the entire age range. We’re bringing 16-19 year old community activists and social entrepreneurs to the WEF meeting in Davos, whereas we’re bringing slightly older people to the regional WEF meetings or other high-level events.
It also depends on the organisations we’re working with for any given event, as they are entitled to specifying the age group they’re looking for to complement their meetings.

I see. Thanks for the clarification. I will ask the same question.
Hope to participate in future activities for the “older” ones.
Thanks
19 July 2009
I know that i should make the video available on youtube but Where should i send my PDF application form ?????????
19 July 2009
The online application opens on the 1st August, you’ll then be able to submit the written part to your application, you could just copy and paste it if you’ve already written it!!
19 July 2009
you can’t paste something to PDF. you can’t change the what’s written or add in our case !!!
19 July 2009
Have you already written your answers for the questions?
19 July 2009
yes, on a piece of paper.
20 July 2009
Cool well the online application comes online on the 1st of August, where you’ll be able then type upp your answers, so keep hold of your paper!!
20 July 2009
thanks
20 July 2009
hey…just making sure…the application states that those born before November 15 are not qualified even though they were born in 1990
20 July 2009
hey!
Thanks Jahailyass for asking that query, even I had a similar one.
and Thanks Scott for helping out
21 July 2009
Love you all !!!
21 July 2009
@Osunkoya: That was a mistake on our part. It’ll now be 1/1/1990 to 15/11/1993.
21 July 2009
alrighty then…thanks Matt !!!
24 July 2009
Thank you for that date correction Matt. hope l make it through..
25 July 2009
Are there any extra fees or everything is paid?
27 July 2009
So why is it only 1990-1993? If I’m 19 on 15th November 2009 (my birth date is December 4, 1989), it doesn’t count?
27 July 2009
Hi Es - You still need to be 19 in January incase your selected to attend the WEF in Davos as their requirements are specific and request young people to be 16-19 years old!
28 July 2009
Hi people, I will do that. I am 17 and I am from Brazil. I just cannot type my answers but I have already written them in a piece of paper too. I am going to wait for the 1st of August and see what it can bring about :D I hope there is another application for us to fill.
28 July 2009
If I was born on 2nd of July 1990 , could I apply for the conference because I have read some where that they would accept from NOVEMBER 1990 ?
Hopefully to get the exact answer
28 July 2009
Hey Italo good to see you here! Looking forward to seeing some posts from you in the forum!
28 July 2009
Dear scott.forbes does you have any idea if I was born in July 1990 , Could I apply for the forum ?
29 July 2009
Of course you can try :} Will you be 19 in November right? So, I believe you can try. I am not sure. Wait for Scott’s answer.
29 July 2009
Hi, I will turn 20 just before that. will I be able to apply? (when applying I will be 19)
29 July 2009
Hey Scott, it is great to see you here too. Well, I have got to say that I am fascinated to this website. Congratulations to you all who have been participating in all these perfect events and for changing points of view and ideas of young people all over the world. In my country, young people are not interested in changing the world or expressing their ideas. Then, the exceptions need to stand up and change these kinds of thoughts. I will be able to share my profile with all of you and learn more about importante subjects. That is what I lack. So, I will read more about the subjects addressed in this site and participate in the discussions. I really want to get part of the Global Changemakers’ group and make the differences in my country. So, you can count on me for everything you want. I will help you all as much as possible.
29 July 2009
good to hear those words from you, Italo. You can count me in also. We share the same sentiments on that issue. I hope my participation could be a stepping stone in trying to fulfill our common goals.
Unfortunately, I’m not legible for the forum. I’m already 20 right now.
Hope to hear from you all soon. I’m Cris Aian. A newbie here from the Philippines
29 July 2009
It is really a great opportunity for all youth to participate in tis forum because it could change their surrounded communities especially our daily life circumstances
As I am from middle east we have plent of issues to be canged like conflicts , economical and educational level , environment ...etc
But despite all of these hazardous issues most of youth are not creative and not ready to stand up and CHANGE !
Yes italo I will be 19 in November I will do my best to attend this forum and hopefully to be legible and deserved
29 July 2009
It is very stimulant to know that I can count on you all. I am a new member here and I still have a lot to learn. Here in Brazil, we also have these issues to be discussed like: crimes to environment, ethics and citizenship lack, teaching methodology and economical level. I live in an emerging country and the participation of a Brazilian could mean a lot to my country. I am not saying that I am the best to represent my country but I cannot deny that I am capable :D
Cris, what a pity! You cannot apply for this forum, but do not worry about that :} There will be others opportunities for all of us.
I will do the best of me to get into this opportunity, what reflects that I am really motivated and comitted of getting it :D
29 July 2009
Yes italo i’m all with you about sensitive issues in all of our countries and as we are living in the same world definietly there will be corresponding matters of all youth around the world that can join us to apply for this forum in order to share our ideas and discuss even if we are not selected we can post our beliefs and thoughts online so I’m excited for this forum and I would like to apply for it from the 1st of August
and I hope that all multi-cultured youth will gather to seize this opportunity and meet different participants hopefully to be selected from Middle East and Africa

30 July 2009
I am eagerly awaiting August 1st so that I can submit my application. I am extremely excited for this opportunity, it sounds fantastic. Cudos to Global Change Makers for giving passionate and involved youth a voice!
30 July 2009
In the online application told that you must be born between 15 November 1990 and 1993. I am wondering that if it possible for me to apply for this summit. Because in this November i am still 19.
30 July 2009

Can I come and help the event grow?
Have been working on http://www.MUSTart.org which put on live event that help people collaborate and give free books away to each other:) Its a nice icebreaker and encourages selfless generosity.
Also check out http://www.traidmark.org for a not for profit business structure that creates institutional innovation…
And finally…

Guys, you have got to be 19 in November. If you are 20 in this date, you cannot apply for this summit.
31 July 2009
Pitchapa.C
I was wondering for the same reason because I
have noticed in the PDF version that it was remarked that you should be borned between 15 November 1990 and 1993.
I will be 19 in Novermber I have been 19 in this month but Scott.forbes replied and he said that from 1/1/1990 to15/11/1993 you can apply to this summit so do we have the ablity to participate or not because we want a clear confirmation in order to apply by tommorow hopefully to get the answer as soon as possible
31 July 2009
Some parents will not allow their children to travel alone at sixteen. They are still minors. Will an adult(teacher) be allowed to accompany them.
31 July 2009
I do not think so =/
31 July 2009
You need to be born in the age range 1st January 1990 to 15th November 1993. You need to be 19 not only during the forum but in Janaury to incase your selected for the World Economic Forum in Davos!
