Guildford 2009, Human Rights, WEF Davos 2009
I've just come from the WEF session, chaired by Riz Khan of Al Jazeera, featuring this year's Davos 6. As expected, they did great, speaking articulately and with great passion of the issues close to their hearts but also of the Guildford 60 and the larger Global Changemakers network.
What was less expected: Kofi Annan was not able to participate... so a large part of this afternoon was spent trying to find a solution. This included a lot of running around, enough phone calls to make several telecom companies very happy... and a surprising last-minute addition to the panel: replacing Kofi Annan, Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, graciously agreed to join the Six on the panel. All of this despite her not having planned to take part in the WEF this year, so her participation was quite literally a last-minute decision too. Obviously this is a wonderful vote of support for the Global Changemakers, for young community activists and social entrepreneurs, and for understanding between the young and the current authority generation.
The video of the session hasn't been uploaded yet, but we will provide details as soon as it is online. Keep watching this website as well as the WEF's video site: http://gaia.world-television.com/wef/worldeconomicforum_annualmeeting2009/.

Amazing session guys, I am very impressed by the group so far. I like the way you have each used your issues/cap to bring about a clear message around what young people are doing around the world. You have also linked the problems and situations on the ground. Great pace, you have made a great impact and grabbed me with your insight and conviction.

You did a great job guys, I am so proud that I had a chance to meet and talk to you. I am sure that you have already brought a huge change at WEF, speaking out of problems and challenges that youth is facing nowadays.
Keep your great job,
Love and Miss you a lot!!!!
