If we applied to Middle-East Youth forum can we also apply to the African one. If we have to choose I’d like to transfer my application from middle-east to Africa. How can I do that? Also what’s the maximum age for participants
    Thanks!

There’s not a space on the online application form for one to select Gender, and it doesn’t allow you to proceed without entering your Gender. I think your IT person should take a look at it asap. Thanks!

The world is only as strong as its weakest link, and as weak as its strongest link. Collective activism is human dynamism. So come on, let’s do this! wink

My quest to better the lives of youths in Nigeria earned me the “5th Annual Nigerian Youth Leadership Award” in November 2008. I believe the forth-coming Africa Youth Forum is an opportunity for me to participate in the quest to better the lives of every African youth. I have applied for the forum and I wish to be considered. It will serve as a golden opportunity for the true changemakers to air our voices.

NELSON MANDELA once said - “there is no easy walk to freedom anywhere”. Implicit to his statement is my quest to ensure that my participation in the forth-coming African Youth Forum, will serve as a platform for us to discuss issues concerning the establishment of efficient Youth Parliaments in our respective African countries, in order to ensure the rights of every African youth is taken into consideration by our policy makers.

my own perspective is that when we meet with the Africa Leaders it will prepare we the leader on how we too can manage this when we too get there i believe if we have been opportune to meet with we will know how to take care of something when we are also in power

Great comment Ibrahim! You couldn’t of said it better! I think that goes for every developing country, youth participation is such an important measure to allow young peoples voices to be heard and listened to by decision makers, that is exactly what the British Council does best by gracing us as young people with these fantastic opportunities! smile

community awareness with young people at the forefront of advocacy should not only encouraged for what it stands for and the ripple effects it generates, but should also be encouraged for the added value it brings to the enrichment of African communities. thank you guys for this forum.

    Hi
on the profile of Global Change Maker it was state that Global Changemakers will create and support a large global network of future young activists and social entrepreneurs aged between 16 and 25 and develop them into Changemakers.

But on the application it is request for applicant within the age bracket of 16 - 23, i think there is a contracdition about the Age.

I also think it would be fair for youth in africa within the age bracket of 16 - 25 to apply for the programme rather that restricting it to 16-23 years old youth.

I think we should also consider other young people from africa that would want to be a part of this forum but dont have access cam coder, or phones with camaera to make 2 minute video.

    The foundation of
    United Actions is vision
    united with pragmatism.
    Practical solutions are the
    principal force to bring
    change to humanity and to
the world at large. It is critical
    that we transform ideals, ideas
    and words into concerted
    global action.
    Change starts within ourselves.
By doing and by acting, we
shall ‘be the change’, we shall
    lead change and we shall
    create positive change and
    development on a global scale.

    Anything is possible as long
    as you are totally committed,
give your best and never give
    up.

    Don’t wait for solutions; create
    them.”

Thank to the British Council to give me this opportunity to participate at the African Youth Forum and World Economic Forum.

I remain the WORLD Renowed,Vibrant and Eloquent Public Speaker and Writer.
Change as i always say is Inevictable. The Only thing that can not be change by change is CHANGE. For this reason ... Change must come.
There is a cry for Change in Africa ...  there s a yearinig for a performing generation to arise.
And as my MENTOR LES BROWN says ...  If you want to think hard enough to go out and fight for it, to work day and night for it,to give up your time, peace and sleep for it. If all that you dream and scream is about it and Life seems useless and worthless without it and if you gladly sweat for it, fetch for it ,plan for it and loose all your terror of the opposition for it and if you simply go after those things that you want with all of your capacity, strenght and sagacity, faith, hope and confidence and stand when there is adversity with the help of God you’ll get it.
CHANGE IS POSSIBLE IN AFRICA !!!

For CHANGE to be there, there should be innovation hey! get it from me,  i never follow a used path because I believe it only leads to where everyone else has been. i believe for me to b an active tool of CHANGE, i should embark on xCHANGE because it enlightens me on areas i have never thot about, hence leading to CHANGE of doing things, “innovation”. so, i believe being part of international forums like the AYF is such a gr8 opportunity for xCHANGE leading to INNOVATION then CHANGE…. INTERESTING HUH!

Hi there every one, Intellectual exchange is one of the most important resources in the industry of global change, which for so long has been ignored, forgotten or simply relegated to the bachground. If Africa should change then, the rythm of the socio-economic and political tune of the day must be a blend of the ideas of the young and the old, the rich and the poor, the previledge and underpreviledge. All opinoins count, small wonder, to get pure gold, one must be ready to get soiled with mud. If only we can be able to come together, to weave a fine fabric of properly sieved ideas from around the globe, then we can start thinking of becomming “GLOBALCHANGEMAKERS”. if we have to enjoy good music from a piano, we certainly, must make good use of the white and the black keys.” come to think of this ” together we stand, divided we crumble”
Thanks to the BC for giving us such an opportunity. Hope We Meet in Z A soon
